Welcome back to Style Sessions, a limited series that goes in-depth on the world of WNBA fashion. We got this started late last WNBA season but will be bringing in new voices and installments this year. If you missed last season’s editions, Sydnee Paige (stylist for Skylar Diggins and Kiki Iriafen), is profiled here and, Golden of IGP Styling (stylist for Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, to name a few), here.
One of the really interesting things about women’s sports fashion is the mix of masculine and feminine styles. Kylie Gelfand didn’t initially start her career styling women’s athletes but found the skills transferrable.
“I think it’s so creative,” she said. “You can do anything with it. [The look] is more masculine and adding a pointy heel makes it that feminine look that obviously men aren’t going to wear.”
