About Us

No Cap Space WBB started in some of the most terminally online fever swamps of women’s basketball fandom. That’s said in a half joking way because, on some level, that’s what happened. Andrew Haubner, Chauny Powell, Rashard Hall, Greer Engonga and Tyler DeLuca all met each other through WNBA Twitter and became online friends. As time went on, they all realized that one of their favorite past-times was critiquing media coverage around women’s basketball. But it got stale. Easy to throw tomatoes when you’re not the one on the stage, right?

So they decided to build a media outlet they felt the game deserved. No Cap Space WBB covers the entirety of women’s basketball, all over the world and all levels, but the mission statement of the outlet is more than that. It’s about tying a too-often overlooked history to the explosive growth of the present and future. It’s where you can get straight reporting, deeper perspectives, human-driven features and the banter you’d expect from a bunch of people forged in the fire of early era Twitter.

There’s great content. There’s also a pledge to return it to the women’s basketball community in some way, shape or form. We release monthly reports about what your subscription is helping to fund, we are building offline events for Ball-Knowers to connect in real life and we’re rebuilding long declining journalistic pipelines.

A human touch in a digital world.

Equity over algorithms.
