Clara Strack is learning to pick and choose her spots.

The 6’5 junior center is a foundational piece of Kenny Brooks’ Kentucky Wildcats and was an All-SEC second teamer this year. Lately, that case has gotten much, much stronger. On the back of a 33 point performance to upset Georgia in the conference tournament, top seeded South Carolina won’t be taking UK lightly.

Then again, Strack’s known that since the beginning of the season.

“I think just proving we're here and we're here to win games,” she told No Cap Space in January. “We're here to be a contender for an SEC championship.”

But her path to speaking with such conviction has been a long one, born out of western New York’s emerging women’s basketball scene and now flourishing here in Lexington.
