Sticky Notes, Vol. 2
As another month passes in the WNBA regular season, we take a look at 'Sticky Note' takes submitted by our Ball-Knowers from the past 30 days and see whose is aging the best.
Welcome back to Sticky Notes! For those seeing this for the first time, it’s a fun project we do for our Ball-Knowers subscription tier to give everyone a shot to be a master take artist. In short, think of it like one big monthly game of Pardon The Interruption. Only this time, everyone can play. Here’s how it works…
The way this works is that the Sticky Notes are for the entire season. So what you put down in our subscriber chat will be constantly re-evaluated and ranked throughout the season. At the conclusion of each of these pieces, we’ll reopen a new Sticky Notes thread, allowing everyone to continue to put in new takes as they come to mind.
At the end of the year, all of the takes will be ranked. Whoever has the best take percentage (minimum 5 takes throughout the year) will be crowned as the Supreme Ball-Knower of the 2025 WNBA season. Maybe we’ll throw in some Homefield merch too!
Our ranking system is as follows…
Aging (or aged) like wine (good to very good take) : +2 Points
Aging (or aged) like cheese (wide range of outcomes) : +1 Point
Aging (or aged) like milk (bad to very bad) : -1 Point
So let’s get to the grading!
Aging (or Aged) Like Wine
Jo - May as well put out there that Allisha Gray is going to get top 3 in MVP voting…
We’re still in the wait and see but I firmly believe she’s a locked in third behind A’ja Wilson and frontrunner Napheesa Collier. It’s worth noting though that this take could get bumped down as there are some contenders starting to creep a bit behind her. Voters will still see Stewie’s and Sabrina’s name brand, Skylar is making a push while Caitlin just needs to give us more data to work with and find her shot stroke again. It still feels like Allisha is right in the mix but there have been some duds recently.
