It’s been a whirlwind of a month for former Harvard guard Harmoni Turner. But at this stage of her basketball career, she’s somewhat used to it.
“I haven’t been super overwhelmed with anything,” she explains. “I’ve been more excited and grateful for opportunities.”
Those opportunities have come, went, returned, departed and given way to new ones. From being drafted by the Las Vegas Aces in 2025, to being waived in training camp, to playing in France, returning to the United States, entering training camp for the Connecticut Sun in 2026, just missing a full time roster spot, and then getting a new contract offer, it’s somewhat remarkable her head hasn’t spun off entirely.
“I can’t really control what people do or say,” adds Turner, “But I can control how I respond to things, so I think I’ve just really intentional about that area.”
That balancing act allows her to ride the wave that comes with being a professional in this sport, and now she has a new chance to control her own fate: with the brand new Upshot League, which debuts this Friday night.
