At 29 years old, the Sparks forward has enjoyed a career year and is ready for her second act in the WNBA.
Everyone had been waiting for a season like this out of Azura Stevens. Since her freshman year at Duke in 2014, the 6’6 forward felt like the future of the WNBA. A tall, long and versatile shooter that could play down low but performed best as a faceup four and someone who could stretch a defense in ways they weren’t used to. Unfortunately, a slew of injuries kept hampering her progress to the point that it was a fair question to ask if Stevens would ever get a chance to fully unlock her potential in the WNBA.
It took eight years but the road is never a straight line in professional sports. For Azura, a full offseason, strength program and new coach has propelled her to a career year in 2025.
