Goodness gracious, folks.
Thursday’s top five matchup between No. 4 Texas and No. 5 Vanderbilt is a contender, despite being a 16 point win for the Commodores that was never really close, for game of the year in NCAA women’s basketball. From a narrative standpoint, it’s one of my favorite regular season games I’ve ever covered.
In my ten years in media, from covering Rose Bowls to Super Bowls, NBA drama and MLS Cup Finals and more, I have never seen a press conference like the one Longhorns head coach Vic Schaefer had on Wednesday night. You can see it below or on our YouTube page but it’s one of the most entertaining things I think I’ve ever watched in person. But beyond a biblical crash out, there was plenty to discuss from the game itself so let’s talk about it.
