A Boots on The Ground Postgame Notebook: Las Vegas vs. Dallas

The Aces came back to beat Dallas in front of a raucous atmosphere in Michelob Ultra Arena. We have thoughts, postgame quotes and more from Las Vegas.

This was…quite a show. First of all, a big shoutout to Vegas. No A’ja, playing a 1-10 Dallas team late on a Friday night and the atmosphere felt like a playoff game. It was a sellout crowd and they were loud. Like, uncommonly loud for a mid-June WNBA regular season matchup. Despite rising ticket prices across the sport, the Aces have really built a great fanbase and community here. I genuinely wonder if it could translate to a bigger arena like T-Mobile.

As for the game itself, we have a different format for the Boots on the Ground notebook. Instead of a full gamer, I decided to take some inspiration from our friend

(a wonderful WBB publication you should read and subscribe to) and just kind of take notes on the game as they happened. I broke everything up into segments — pregame, each quarter, postgame — and just jotted down my thoughts as we went. Hopefully it gives you a bit more than what the broadcast cameras picked up and the gamers written by the publications usually give.
