The injury bug has once again hit the WNBA, adding another name to an ever growing list of players done for the 2025 season. Golden State Valkyries wing Kayla Thornton, the Valks top scorer and contender for WNBA Most Improved Player, will be out for the rest of the year after injuring her right knee in practice earlier this week.
The team announced on Friday that she went underwent a successful surgery today in San Francisco. Not only does this change things for Golden State, who are just two games under .500 and still in the mix for the playoffs but it also changes the MIP race completely.
